The bottom photo was done over 25 years ago before digital effects were as prevalent as today. In fact, getting the exact result below is easier using film. I did this one when I was president of the camera club in high school. Set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter, and fire the flash a few times while moving across the view of the camera.
